HED First Responder First Aid Kit for Harsh environment/disaster from First Aid Supplies Online. Harsh environment because either we live and play in them or our neighborhoods can become one. As William W. Forgey, M.D. states in the introduction to his book Wilderness First Aid Manual " Virtually any place can be considered wilderness after an 8.0 on the Richter Scale!" One could say the same of a severe weather event or even a terrorist attack.
The idea was simple. Build a kit that can stand up in harsh environments that contains generous quantities of quality first aid supplies that can be easily identified and used by everyday people who may or may not be trained in first aid to address a wide variety of moderate to severe injuries.
The 1600 was designed with a a small to medium sized group in mind. (25 to 50 people in a group) This rugged kit will keep your first aid supplies high and dry on whatever adventure or disaster your group may encounter. This is the kit you can take with you four wheeling, boating, paint balling, hunting, fishing or you name the outdoor activity. It is also the kit you can keep in your safe place in the case of a disaster that turns your neighborhood or workplace into an instant wilderness without 911 service.
We started with a world class water-tight crush proof Pelican(R) EMS case. Then we packed it with the first aid supplies that you would need to take care of a wide range of moderate to severe injuries by yourself. All of the first aid products in the HED First Kits are products easy to identify and use by everyday people. We left out most of the unfamiliar EMS items that not everybody is trained to use but it would be a good idea for one or more of your group get first aid and CPR training. This is not an EMS kit, it is a Harsh Enviornment/Disaster first responder kit so that you can be prepared with a limited amount of training.
